How to Treat Scabies Naturally (home Remedy)


Scabies is a common skin condition that causes serious itching. It is caused due to scabies mites that burrow under the surface of the skin and is characterized by small blisters and red patches. Scabies is highly contagious and can spread through skin contact. There are varieties of ways to treat scabies in a natural way and though the effectiveness of these remedies has been questioned, it is a safe option as it involves use of natural substances.

Protecting yourself from scabies

The first step is to protect you from scabies if anyone in the household has been diagnosed with scabies. It is a very contagious disease and you need to take precautions to protect yourself from it. Bedding and clothes used by the infected person has to be isolated from the other members of the family. The clothes and bedding have to be washed with boiled water and have to be dried out in the sun. Ensure that the person who is affected with scabies takes bath twice a day with antiseptic soap to help control the spreading of scabies to other parts of the body.

Scabies Home Remedy Treatments:

  • Tea tree oil is said to have antiseptic and anti-parasitic properties and therefore is used as a natural healer for many skin diseases. Apply tea tree oil directly on the affected area regularly to get rid of scabies.
  • Neem is a natural cure for skin diseases and is used extensively in curing scabies. Mix neem extract with warm water and take bath using that water. You can also use neem oil instead of neem extract. Take bath using neem water twice a week to help cure scabies.
  • Turmeric is also used extensively for curing skin related problems. Make a paste using turmeric powder and neem extract and apply it over the affected area. Leave it on for about an hour and then wash it off, or have a bath.
