How to apply for Federal Student Aid using FAFSA.ed.gov

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is an application process to apply for the aid provided by the U.S Department of Education such as student loans and grants backed by the Federal government. • A PC or laptop with a fast and secure internet connection
• Federal Student Aid PIN. To know more about the Federal Student Aid PIN, go to http://studentaid.ed.gov/fafsa/filling-out/pin. You will need to apply for a FAFSA pin to be eligible for FAFSA.

Instructions for Fasfa.ed.gov

1. To apply for a Federal Student Aid using FAFSA go to http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/.
2. The Federal Student PIN is vital to apply using FAFSA. If you do not have the PIN, go to www.pin.ed.gov to apply for the pin.
3. Click on ‘apply for PIN’ button in the page and follow the instructions displayed on screen to get your PIN.
4. After you have received your pin, go to the home page of Federal Student Aid and Click on ‘Start a New FAFSA’ button on the home screen
5. Enter the following details in the displayed screen
   1. Student’s First Name
   2. Student’s Last Name
   3. Student’s Social Security Number
   4. Date of Birth of the student
   5. Once the required information is filled, click on ‘Next’
   6. Follow the instructions on screen and fill in the required information to complete the application process.
