California LifeLine Program is a program of the California State Government to provide basic home phone service to eligible households at discounted prices. Different kinds of discounts are available with the program to suit the requirements of the people. The eligibility for discounts is determined using two methods
- Program Based
- Income Based
A household can only avail one discount and the Federal Communications Commission is responsible for collecting and verifying the data to ascertain eligibility.
Requirements to apply for California LifeLine Program online
- A PC or laptop with a stable internet connection
- California LifeLine Program Application or renewal form for PIN number
- Must be a resident of the state of California

- Before you start the application process, ensure that you are qualified for the program.
- You can get the California LifeLine Program application by contacting your home phone company.
- Go to http://www.californialifeline.com/online.
- Enter your Home phone number in the space provided
- Enter the 4-digit PIN number in the box. The PIN number will be printed on the first page of your California LifeLine Application or renewal form.
- Select the right option for ‘How did you hear about California LifeLine’
- Click on ‘Login’ to proceed further
- If your application is accepted, you will receive a notice from California LifeLine Program on your acceptance.
- If you want to check the status of your application, go to https://www.californialifeline.com/en/account/check.
- Enter your home telephone number and PIN number in the respective fields
- Click on ‘Login’ and the status of your application will be displayed on screen.
