How to Download and Install Instagram on a PC (computer) using BlueStacks

Instagram is a popular image editing and photo/video sharing service that allows users to publish their photos and videos to network sites. Instagram is a freeware and is available for iOS and Android devices. Instagram can be downloaded to the smart phone through Google Play or the Apple App Store. Instagram was started as a photo sharing service initially, but introduced video sharing later on in June 2013. Using Instagram users can upload and share videos that are less than 15 seconds.

Instagram was an instant hit with users and in less than 2 years, it was able to get more than 100 million active users. Instagram was initially created for iOS devices and allowed only photo sharing. In April 2012, an Android version of Instagram was launched and in June 2013, Instagram enabled video sharing. Requirements to install Instagram in PC

• A PC or laptop with a stable and fast internet connection

Detailed Guide:

1. To run Instagram on your Pc you will need an Android Emulator.
2. To download BlueStacks Android Emulator, go to www.bluestacks.com.
3. Click on ‘DOWNLOAD XP, VISTA, WIN7/8’ button
4. BlueStacks installation file will be downloaded on to the system.
5. Run the installation file and follow the instructions on screen to install BlueStacks Android Emulator on your PC.
6. After installation, open the Emulator and search for Instagram
7. Click on the Instagram icon in the search results to install Instagram in the Emulator
8. After installation, you can run Instagram from your PC using the Android Emulator
9. Alternatively, you can also search for ‘Instagram.apk’ file online to help install Instagram in your Android Emulator.
10. After you download the .APK file and double click on it. It should open in BlueStacks automatically.
11. If it does not open in BlueStacks, right click on the .APK file and select the open with option.
12. Select BlueStacks application from the list and click on ‘OK’
13. If you cannot find BlueStacks application in the list, click on the Browse option and select the .exe file of BlueStacks Emulator.
14. Instagram will be installed in your PC.
15. You can now access Instagram in the ‘Apps’ folder of the Android emulator.
