The American National Visa Center (NVC) processes the immigrant petitions that have been approved by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). The USCIS is a section of the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and processes the citizenship and immigration applications received by the United States Government. Once an immigration application is approved by the USCIS, it is forwarded to the NVC for further processing.
The NVC or National Visa Center provides instructions to the petitioners, visa applicants and the sponsors about the immigration process. It also reviews the Affidavit of Support forms provided by the sponsors, collects the fees for the Visa application and reviews the entire application form. A fee has to be paid to NVC for processing the Immigrant Visa and the Affidavit of Support verification. Fee payments that have to be made to the NVC can be made online by visiting the official website of NVC.
